Eugene "Gene" Panozzo's Obituary
Mr. Gene Panozzo, age 85, passed away Thursday morning, February 1, 2007 in Muskegon. He was born August 28, 1921 to Dominic and Maria Panozzo in Muskegon and lived all of his life here. He worked at Continental Motors for 31 years before retiring and was a WWII, U.S. Army veteran. Gene was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and also belonged to the Port City Puddle Jumpers. He enjoyed gardening; specializing in growing beautiful roses. Gene married Mickey on June 29, 1963 and she survives him along with 2 step-children, Wendy Wamser of Rockford, MI, Greg (Joan) Wamser of Muskegon; 2 step-grandchildren, Lisa Herzhaft and Steven Wamser; 2 brothers, Victor (Nancy) Panozzo of Muskegon, Rudy (Joyce) Panozzo of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Fred and Ray Panozzo; and 1 sister, Katherine Way. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated at 9:00 AM Saturday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson presiding. Entombment will take place at St. Mary’s Mausoleum.
