Eugene "Gene" C. Butler's Obituary
Mr. Eugene “Gene” C. Butler, age 78, died Friday, October 21, 2005 in Muskegon. He was born on April 23, 1927 to Nathan & Adabelle (Marcum) Butler, and had resided in the area most of his life. Mr. Butler had worked at Dresser Industries for 40 years, and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Newaygo. He was a Veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. On July 3, 1982 he married the former Daughn Gee, and she survives him along with daughter Diana (Wayne) Fuller of Shelby; 4 step-children, Pamala (David) Abercrombie of Muskegon, Michael Taylor of California, Tina Taylor of Muskegon, Eric (Anjanette) Taylor of Colorado; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Mr. Butler was preceded in death by 2 sisters, 1 brother, and grandson, Orion Taylor. MEMORIAL SERVICES will be 1 PM Tuesday at The United Methodist Church of Newaygo (Downtown Newaygo) with Rev. Sandi Spahr officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Kidney Fund would be appreciated. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
