Eugene L. Hower's Obituary
Mr. Eugene L. Hower, Sr., age 96, passed away Friday afternoon, June 5, 2009 in Grand Haven. He was born in Holton, MI on July 11, 1912 to George M. and Rena M. (Burns) Hower and was a life resident of the Muskegon – Grand Haven area. Mr. Hower was employed by Shaw Walker for 17 years before his retirement in 1977. He was a member of Calvary Memorial Church of North Muskegon where he served as head usher for several years and attended the Church of the Nazarene of Grand Haven. Mr. Hower enjoyed woodworking and making furniture. On May 31, 1945 he married the former Rosella M. Brown and she survives him along with 4 children, Eugene (Diane) Hower, Jr., Gladys Lazano, James (Marilyn) Hower and Roger Hower; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Daisy Knollinger and 1 sister-in-law, Alida Hower. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11AM Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Calvary Memorial Church (909 E. Giles Rd., North Muskegon 49445). VISITATION with his family will be from 10 – 11AM Saturday.
