Eugene W. Wilkins' Obituary
Mr. Eugene “Gene” Wilkins, age 77, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, May 26, 2004. He was born on October 20, 1926 to Henry and Rose (Frederick) Wilkins in Hill City, Minnesota, where he graduated from Hill City High School. He then moved to Muskegon where attended Muskegon Business College. Mr. Wilkins was a member of Orchard View Congregational Church. He had a love for sports, and played softball and basketball with Continental Motors. Mr. Wilkins also enjoyed hunting and fishing, was a life member of the American Legion, DAV and VFW. On August 20, 1947, he married Willene Belle Carter in North Muskegon. SURVIVORS include his wife, Willene; 2 children, Pamela Gene (Marcus) Syriac of Muskegon, Steven William (Roxanne) Wilkins of Hamilton, MI; 3 grandchildren; 1 brother, Dale (Mary) Wilkins of Florida; 1 sister, Lois (Nellis) VanKrevelen of Muskegon. Mr. Wilkins was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Nancy Welch and two sons, Dennis and Daniel Wilkins. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 2 PM Saturday at Orchard View Congregational Church with Pastor William Randall officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 1 – 2 PM at the church. Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Multiple Sclerosis Society or DeBoer Nursing Home would be appreciated.
