Eugenia M. Deitz's Obituary
Eugenia M. (Corpe) Deitz, age 83, passed away on Tuesday July 20, 2021. She was born on May 8, 1938, to Charles A. Corpe and Margaret (Goeman) Corpe in Muskegon, Michigan. She was oldest of four children. She was married in Muskegon on January 21, 1956, to John V. Deitz who preceded her in death. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church for 50 years until Calvary Baptist and Bethel Baptist Church merged recently and is now called Calvary Church – Muskegon. The church is located on Oak St. in Fruitport which is the location of the former Bethel Baptist Church. Eugenia enjoyed volunteering at Mercy Hospital, knitting, camping, and spending time with family and friends. Eugenia M. (Corpe) Deitz and her husband John had 3 children, Betty (Regis) Eller, Mary Cross- Bunker and Vanessa (Gary) Fletcher. Her grandchildren: Danielle (Peter) Smedley, Elizabeth Eller, Benjamin (Suzanne) Eller, Michael Eller, Jerrad Fletcher, Jessica Fletcher, Jordan Fletcher, and Janalyce Fletcher. She has 10 great-grandchildren: Willow, River and Serenity Kettler, William and Morgan Franklin, Olivia, Emma and Abigail Eller, Alan Fletcher, Cullen Eller, and Sister Judy (Cecil) Scott. Her two sisters Joann Merwick, Wanda Greig have preceded her in death. Eugenia held several jobs; she worked for Spiegel, Montgomery Wards and JC Penney in their catalog department and was a receptionist at Gage Chevrolet and Zelenka Evergreen Nursery. A Memorial Service for Eugenia will take place on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Calvary Church – Muskegon at 213 W. Oak St., Fruitport, MI, 49415 (888-822-4632) at 11:00 AM with visitation an hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Fruitport Pine Hill Cemetery.
