Mrs. Eva Ortquist's Obituary
Mrs. Eva Ortquist, age 90, passed away Thursday evening, January 24, 2019 at her home. Our lovely lady vacated her worthless, cancer ridden, mindless body and now has been transferred with her beautiful, precious soul to be with her Heavenly Father. Eva was born March 7, 1928 in Muskegon to Andrew and Johanne (Larsen) Christensen. On August 21, 1950, Eva married Jack V. Ortquist and he survives her. She had worked in purchasing for Naph-Sol Refinery for 16 years prior to her retirement. Eva was a member of Laketon Bethel where she sang in the choir and was a part of the Ladies Guild Circle. She was an Avon representative and enjoyed sewing and baking special desserts. In addition to Jack, her husband of 68 years, Eva is survived by her children, Joel (Monica) Ortquist and Lois (Dan) Luytjes; her grandchildren, Holly Luytjes and Kaleb (Katrina) Evans; great grandson, Charles Evans; and several nieces and nephews. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Norma Woock and brother-in-law, Sherwin Woock. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11 AM Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Laketon Bethel Reformed Church, 1568 W. Giles Rd. with Rev. Dr. Sherwin Bransten officiating. VISITATION will be Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave, 231-726-5210 from 5-7 PM and one hour prior to the service (10-11AM) at the Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harbor Hospice Foundation or Laketon Bethel Children’s Ministry. Burial will take place in Laketon Township Cemetery.
