Evelyn J. Bailey's Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn J. Bailey, age 94, of Grand Haven passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Heartwood Lodge. She was born December 10, 1921 in Grand Haven to Henry and Roelvina (Hoffman) Hoebeke. On March 28, 1947 she married Howard Bailey in Grand Haven and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1999.
Evelyn was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven and a former member of the Women’s Circle. She enjoyed knitting, bridge and casino trips. She liked watching the Detroit Tigers and playing bingo with her friends at Heartwood Lodge, but most of all she loved her family and spending time with them.
She is survived by four children: Lynne Bailey of Grand Haven, Sandi Bailey of Grand Rapids, Howie (Tammy) Bailey of Grand Haven and Nancy (Brad) Suchecki of Grand Haven. Seven grandchildren: Brian Ayres, Brad Ayres, Tom Nelson, Jill Nelson, Zack Suchecki, Kole Suchecki and Wyatt Suchecki; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her sister, Harriet Kieft; her brother, Jack Hoebeke.
