Evelyn E. Horvath's Obituary
Evelyn E. Horvath, age 90, met her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 10, 2023. She was born on September 15, 1932, to Theodore and Agnes (Zelinski) Witkowski in Muskegon, MI. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School class of 1950. On July 18, 1953, she married the love of her life, Joseph Horvath. Together they cherished 29 years full of love and laughter. Joseph preceded her in death in 1982. Evelyn worked for Kaydon Credit Union, dedicating 20 years as a teller before retiring. She was a faithful servant and a longtime active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Evelyn was highly involved in her church circle, participating in the Altar Society and other church functions for 70 years. She also enjoyed pressing her luck whether it was playing Bingo, poker or at the casino. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and having them over for a homecooked meal. Evelyn was known for her outgoing and social personality, with the ability to easily make friends. Her tender-loving spirit will be missed by so many. She is survived by her two children, William (Molli) Horvath and Nancy (Mike) Quintero; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Tony) Maldonado, Miguel (Katherine) Quintero, William (Jelitza) Quintero, Chelsea Horvath and Christopher Horvath; and six great-grandchildren, Lauren, Cruz, Vicente, Miguel, Olivia and Salem. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Horvath; sister, Marian (Melvin) Reich; and three brothers, Theodore (Terry) Witkowski, Richard (Jackie) Witkowski and Robert Witkowski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 E. Summit Ave., Muskegon Heights, MI 49444. A visitation with the family will be held one-hour prior at church. Arrangements entrusted to The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
