Evelyn Joslyn's Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn Joslyn, age 94, of Muskegon passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Sanctuary at the Oaks. She was born May 15, 1923 in Grand Rapids to George and Creta (Irish) Welkome. On December 31, 1941 she married Jack Joslyn in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on November 3, 2017.
Evelyn was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was the former PTA President at Reeths Puffer, and a Cub Scout den mother when her children where young. Evelyn was an excellent cook and enjoyed knitting and sewing. She loved her family and spending time with all of them, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by three children: Gary (Donna) Joslyn of Goodyear, Arizona, Susan (Donald) Nielsen of North Muskegon and Jeffery (Kathleen) Joslyn of Twin Lake; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Betty (Robert) Bushaw; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant brother; sister, Geraldine Tubergen.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 27, 2018 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Bill Uetricht officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.
