Evelyn J. "Evie" Lowder's Obituary
Surrounded by the love of her family, Evelyn Joan “Evie” Lowder, age 85, went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, July 6, 2017. She was born the youngest of eight children on March 17, 1932 in Muskegon to Charles and Anna (Hyma) Yonkman. As a young woman, Evie enjoyed singing with her sisters Ann Sieplinga and Delores Boucher in the Yonkman Trio. On August 3, 1951, she married Dale Lowder in Muskegon and together they shared 65 years of love and joy. Evie loved life, had a radiant smile, and was a shining example to all with whom she came in contact. She loved the outdoors, was always active, and was on bowling and golf leagues in Muskegon and Tampa. For 70 years, she was a member of Fifth Reformed Church. Above all, she loved and cherished her family. SURVIVORS include her husband, Dale; 6 children: Kathy (Jerry) Bolthouse of Spring Lake; Cindy (Dan) Mysen of Twin Lake, Deb (Bob) Frederick of White Cloud, David (Lisa) Lowder of Muskegon, Trisha Lowder of San Francisco, CA, Lance Lowder of San Diego, CA; 8 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; sister, Delores Frazier; and many nieces and nephews. Evie was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers: Al, Walt, and Bob; and 3 sisters: Grace, Ann, and Frankie. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Monday, July 10, 2017 at Fifth Reformed Church (2330 Holton Rd.) with Rev. Scott VanArendonk officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial Contributions to the Harbor Hospice Foundation or Fifth Reformed Church will be appreciated.
