Evelyn F. Critchett's Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn F. Critchett, age 85, died Sunday afternoon, November 14, 2004, in Muskegon. She was born September 19, 1919 in Hart, Michigan to Benjamin & Jennie (Vaneps) Strait and has resided in the Muskegon area the past 68 years. Evelyn’s two objectives in life were to love and serve her Lord; and to be a devoted and loving wife and mother to her family. On November 25, 1938 she married Jonathan Critchett and after 64 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on April 6, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her son, John Alan Critchett; son-in-law, Edwin Walters; 1 sister; 2 brothers and by her sister-in-law, Nina Haughey Vissers. SURVIVORS include 5 children, Marlene Walters, Donna (Jack) Buit, Ellen Campbell, Linda (Bill) Ezell and Jerry (Pam) Critchett; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and 1 brother, Harold (Verna) Strait. SERVICES will be 12 Noon Thursday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210)with Pastor Jonathan Rager officiating. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery. VISITATION with Evelyn’s family will be 2-4 & 7-9PM Wednesday. For a more lasting memorial you are asked to consider VNS – Hospice.
