Evelyn G. Hoogsteen's Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn G. Hoogsteen, age 95, passed away Friday evening, November 7, 2008 in Muskegon. She was born October 9, 1913 to Henry J. and Lena(Ponce) Morsink in Grand Rapids, and lived all of her life there before recently coming to Muskegon. Mrs. Hoogsteen worked for the Grand Rapids Board of Education, retiring in 1978, and was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church in Muskegon. She enjoyed sewing and reading, especially her Bible. On August 14, 1943 she married Robert W. Hoogsteen in Grand Rapids, and he preceded her in death in August of 1982. SURVIVORS include 1 daughter, Cheryl (Tom) Veldman of Norton Shores; 3 grandchildren, Michelle (Scott) Hewitt of Spring Lake, Kevin (Debbie) Veldman of Muskegon, Kurtis Veldman of Panama City Beach, FL; 5 great-grandchildren, Caleb and Landon Veldman, Jessica, Jacob, and Lauren Hewitt; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters, and 1 brother. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Calvin Christian Reformed Church, with Rev. Jeff Boersma officiating. Burial will take place at the Restlawn Cemetery in Grand Rapids. VISITATION at
