Where does one being a love relationship of almost 60 years?!
Adjectives describe. Every postive, beautiful, loving and caring adjective describes my "Other Mother".
Physically this lovely lady was my aunt; my beloved Mothers older sister by 9 years.
Emotionally she ws my friend, my confidante, my supporter, my critic and my Spiritual sister in Christ.
She was so good to me and my family.
She loved my Mom so much. She loved my husband and my children.
When my son, Chad was learning to talk, he could not say "Evelyn", so he would call her "Yum Yum". That was our family name for her. It was later changed to "Yummy".
My daugther, Kristen would spend time with Aunt Eve and she would call Kristen, "Trinket". Then she would say.."ohhhh", Kristen would reply, "that is ok Yummy, you can call me Trinket". Aunt Eve would hug Kristen, and they would laugh. Trinket was her pet name for her beloved granddaughter Traci.
Aunt Eve and I would spend hours together. We could talk all day and start all over the next day. We shared so many things from recipes to secrets. She had a great personality and made everything fun.
Since her first heart attack and stroke in January of 2001, she was physically challenged and very frustrated with her limitations.
She did not give up. She would do her exercises, fold laundry and do what ever she could to help take care of her home.
Praise God she now has no limitations, and no discomfort. She is resting in the arms of her "Sweet Jesus". She is having a reunion with her loved ones, and friends.
Even though that family generation has left us here on earth, we have the privilege of their memories and their teachings.
We are challenged to carry the "Word" to our generation and generations to follow. We have the work of telling our family, loved ones, friends and strangers about Eternal Life. About our Heavenly Father, Our Savior, Our Friend.
I will miss my "Other Mother" more than words can express. But I know I will see her again. She just got to Heaven before I did.
Lovingly,
Her niece, Sue Warren (Susie)##imported-begin##Sue Warren ( and Ed)##imported-end##
