Evelyn Marie Lynn-Ochs' Obituary
Mrs. Evelyn M. Lynn-Ochs, age 89, passed away Thursday evening at the Harbor Hospice–Poppen Residence following a long illness. Evelyn was born in Muskegon on August 19, 1920 to Nelson M. and Eva H. (Bell) Williams. She married Mr. Howard “Ray” Lynn in Muskegon on August 2, 1939 and he preceded her in death on October 8, 1980. Evelyn then married Mr. Edwin Ochs in 1989 and he preceded her in death in 2001. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was formerly a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muskegon Heights and St. Frances de Sales Catholic Church in Norton Shores. Evelyn enjoyed traveling, reading, sewing, music and cooking for family and friends. She is survived by her: daughter, Marcia (Lynn) Sobish of Muskegon; two sons, Dennis A. (Linda) Lynn of Spring Lake and Michael J. Lynn of Norton Shores; two brothers, Jack (Maxine) Williams of Fruitport and Robert (Ruth) Williams of N. Muskegon; one sister, Marilyn (Dick) Mosler of Hudsonville; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: two sisters, Jean Riddle and Betty Johnston; a son-in-law, Jack Sobish and one grandson. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held: 11:00 A.M, Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grand Haven, Fr. William Langlois presiding. Visitation: one hour prior to the Mass. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
