Everett H. Johnston, M.D.'s Obituary
Everett Herd Johnston, M.D., age 90, of Spring Lake, passed away on Thursday, December 12th. Everett was born September 24, 1923 in Sullivan, British Columbia, and served as a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII. He graduated from McGill Medical School in Montreal in 1953 and served his residency in radiology at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. In 1957 he moved to Muskegon to begin practicing medicine with Radiology Muskegon, P.C. and at Hackley Hospital, where he was known as a knowledgeable and compassionate physician. He was inducted as a Fellow into the American College of Radiology in 1973. Everett loved golf, travel, sailing, photography, gardening, and sharing a good laugh with friends. He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Elizabeth Reeves Johnston, and is survived by his daughters, Heather (Don) Kettler of Norton Shores, Cathy (Keith) Angelocci of Novi, Jenny (Kevin) McCourt of Minneapolis. He also leaves behind grandchildren Meghann Kettler, Chris (Kristi) Kettler, Caitlin (Jason) Brazda, Nicholas (Anna) Angelocci, Timothy Angelocci, Jillian (Will) Chaklos, Jimmy McCourt, and Mollie McCourt, along with 2 great grandchildren.
