Everett B. Sherwood's Obituary
Mr. Everett B. Sherwood, age 87, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, in Grand Haven at the home of his daughter, Charlene. He was born December 5, 1916 in Grand Rapids to Clarence & Bessie (Hutchinson) Sherwood and had resided most of his life in the Muskegon area. Mr. Sherwood was a self-employed painter and decorator; and attended Calvary Church. On October 9, 1944 he married the former Virginia Lawton and she preceded him in death on March 26, 1996. Everett was a WW II veteran having served in the European Theater with the U.S. Army Air Force. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Gail (Rex) Bonner and Charlene Breuker of Grand Haven; son-in-law, Michael Breuker of Twin Lake; 4 grandchildren, Jacque ( Jody) Johnson, Michelle (Gene Miller) Spray, Jeff (fiancée Manda) Breuker and Scott ( Jennifer) Breuker; 6 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Nicholas & Noah, Ryon & Jarrett; and Haley; 2 brothers, Clarence (Toni) Sherwood and Richard Sherwood; 2 sisters, Alvern Baxter and Betty Green; many nieces and nephews and 3 special friends, Jayne Taylor and her daughters, Holly Taylor and Sarah Condon. Besides his wife, Virginia, he was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters, Cibyl Bohnstengel, Eva Bartel and Arlois VanDyke. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, 231-726-5210 with the Rev. Dr. Bill Rudd officiating. Burial will be in Norton Cemetery. VISITATION with Everett’s family will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Friday. MEMORIAL GIFTS to Calvary Church or Wesley School will be appreciated.
