Everett L. Thompson's Obituary
Mr. Everett L. Thompson, age 81, passed away December 27, 2005 at a local nursing home. He was born on January 22, 1924 to Joseph and Artie (MacNeil) Thompson in Slater, KY and has resided in the Muskegon area for the past 63 years. Mr. Thompson was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and a proud member of the Order of Kentucky Colonels. Mr. Thompson fought in WWII in the Army’s 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper. He worked as an assembler for Dresser Industries for 45 years prior to his retirement in 1986. On August 9, 1941 he married, Stella Mae Upshaw in Missouri, and she survives him along with two daughters Jane Robidoux of Muskegon and Beverly (Richard) Vandervest of Whitehall; five grandchildren, Robin (Nick) Obrenovich, Michael (Laura) Robidoux, currently on his way to be stationed in Iraq, Carolanne Potter, Becky Bolles, Brenda El Moudni; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William L. Thompson and J. Emmett Thompson. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 30, 2005 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert J. Conradt officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 5 - 7 PM Thursday at, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 and one hour prior to the service at church. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Burial will take place at Restlawn Cemetery.
