Faye Frances Van Dyke's Obituary
Faye Frances Van Dyke, age 84, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in Zeeland, MI. She was born March 17, 1939, in Muskegon, MI, to Alton and Dorothy (DeMars) Forward. She attended Muskegon Catholic Central High School and graduated in 1957. On September 20, 1958, Faye married Norman Van Dyke and they were blessed to have had over 50 years together before his passing on August 2, 2010. Faye spent many years as a bookkeeper for Seaway Insurance, in Muskegon, MI.
Faye was a woman with a servant heart. She enjoyed making and donating quilts for babies and Christmas stockings around Christmas. She and Norman also volunteered much of their time in helping the American Red Cross. Faye and Norman also found time to travel, taking numerous bus trips to various places throughout the United States. What Faye cherished the most was the time she could spend with her granddaughters and visits from her grand doggies.
Faye will be deeply missed by her son, William (Karen) Van Dyke; daughter-in-law, Dawn Van Dyke; grandchildren, Nicole (Dan) Malseed and Sara (Shawn) Seher; great-grandchildren, Rebecca Malseed, Hanna, Malseed, Caleb Seher and Evan Seher; sister Jean Jensen; and brother, Ten (Lynn) Forward. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; son, Thomas; and siblings, Lois Loss, John Loss, Geraldine Fox, Blossom VanderVelde, Lucille Knapp, Jack Forward, Ronald “Cork” Forward and Camille Coburn.
A FUNERAL SERVICE will be 2 PM on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at The VanZantwick Chapel (620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417) with Rev. Fr. Norman Droski presiding and VISITATION 1 hour prior to the service. In memory of Faye, MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
