Fay M. McDonald's Obituary
Mr. Fay M. McDonald, age 92 passed away peacefully last Tuesday evening at V.N.S. Hospice in Muskegon following a long illness. He was born in Sidnaw, MI on March 21, 1919 to David and Lenora McDonald and moved to Muskegon Hts. in 1936. Fay was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters. He was a member of the V.F.W. Don Rea Post in N. Muskegon, the American Legion, past member of the Muskegon Hts. Eagles and was the oldest member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Charles D. Hammond Post. Fay was police officer with the Muskegon Hts. Police Dept., for 25 years, retiring as detective in 1972. In 1941 he married the former Josephine Levandowski and she preceded him in death in 2000. He is survived by his: special niece, Patricia (Bill) Ingalls of Fruitport; special nephew, John McDonald of Twin Lake; special friend, Delores Meadley of N. Muskegon; and many other nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: two brothers, Roy and Ray; and a sister, Agnes Gosda. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at: Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 11:00 A.M., Monday, Fr. Thomas Brown presiding. He will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery with military rites under the auspices of, VFW Post 8846. Visitation with family will be one hour prior. Memorial Contributions: Juvenile Diabetes Association.
