Fern E. Josefowicz's Obituary
Mrs. Fern E. Josefowicz, age 102, passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in Norton Shores. She was born on September 11, 1918 in Remus, MI to Andrew and Bessie (Wood) Flowers. Fern was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where she belonged to their Rosary Altar Society. She was an avid China painter, and was a great Polish food cook. Fern also enjoyed gardening and sewing. On September 28, 1940 she married Henry Josefowicz, and he preceded Fern in death on February 3, 1982 after 42 years of marriage. SURVIVORS include three children, Vince (Janet) Josefowicz, Greg (Cindy) Josefowicz, and Janice (Ed) Furman; 10 grandchildren, Jeff, Jody (Mitch), Janna (Mark), Kim (Dave), Kerry, Steve (Summer), Tom (Jackie), Marci (Pete), Ashley (Barrett) and Laura (Chris); 17 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; brother, Leonard; and niece and nephews who were more like her children, Karen (Bill), Mike and Chuck. Fern was preceded in death by grandson, Joel; daughter-in-law, Pam; siblings, Bob, Jack, Lucille and Lillian; and beloved niece, Bernice. MASS of CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11 AM Monday, March 22, 2021 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Fr. Charlie Hall presiding. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 PM Sunday, March 21, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in Fern’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the Harbor Hospice Foundation will be appreciated.
