Florence C. "Flo" Stromdahl's Obituary
Florence “Flo” C. Stromdahl, age 67, Of Muskegon, was called home on Friday, March 22, 2024, after courageously battling cancer. She was born on July 3, 1956, to George and Alvera (Graf) Bastek in Chicago, IL. Flo was a dedicated and compassionate employee who cared for many, during the 40+ years of working as a home health care nurse. She had an unconditional love and passion for helping others in need. Flo enjoyed the simple things in life, such as gardening, spending time with her family, and having coffee with friends. She was also a great cook. Her tender - loving and generous personality will be missed by the many who knew and loved her. Flo was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alvera Bastek; siblings, Richard (Theresa) Bastek, Marian (David) Green, George Bastek and Rosie Malina; and longtime partner, Gary Monto. Flo is survived by her loving children, Gina Powyszynski and Julie (Donald) Herald; stepsons, Gary (Jessica) Monto, Jr. and Jeremiah (Jamie) Monto; siblings, Harriet (Samuel) White, Patricia (John) Zabawa, Stanley (Mary) Bastek, Robert (Mary) Bastek, James (Michelle) Bastek, and Karen (Steven) Cavins; Grandchildren, Justin (Cheyenne) Lopez, Myles Williams, Regan Leader, Emmett Leader, Jocelyn Monto, Gabriel Monto, Logan Monto, Jordan Monto and Jayden Monto; Great-grandchildren, Olivia Lopez, Gabriella Lopez, Justin Lopez II, Letty Mae Lopez and Jaxxon Cooney. Flo was an aunt to many nieces and nephews and a dear friend to all. Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, March 27, from 4-8:00pm. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am on Thursday, March 28, 2024, with visitation hours from 10-11:00am.
