Florence E. Jackson's Obituary
Mrs. Florence Estelle Jackson, age 95, passed away at Oak-Crest Manor Tuesday afternoon, May 3, 2011. Florence was born February 14, 1916 in Lake Linden, MI to Victor and Libby (Pichette) Miller; and has resided in the Muskegon area since 1922. Florence was a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church and was a former member of the Service League and Muskegon Country Club. She served as President of Mercy Hospital Auxiliary for two years and also volunteered at the Mercy Hospital Gift Shop for 20 years. On June 17, 1939 she married James P. Jackson and he preceded her in death on February 28, 2008. SURVIVORS include four children, Susan Jackson of Sacramento, CA, Daniel (Suzzie) Jackson of Richmond, VA, David (Judy) Jackson of Fond du lac, WI and Stephen (Deb) Jackson of Muskegon; 9 grandchildren, Danny (Amy) Jackson, S. Andrew (Mel) Jackson, Leslie (Garth) Troxell, James (Jenni) Jackson, Ryan (Stephanie) Jackson, Adam Jackson, Stephanie (Ben) Soyars, Tracey Jackson and Patrick Jackson; 9 great-grandchildren, A. Tyler Jackson, Georgia Jackson, Sarah Jackson, Charlotte Jackson, Cassidy Jackson, Emery Troxell, Piper Troxell, Sailor Troxell, Christopher Jackson, Mason Soyars; one brother, Raymond Miller and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amy Jackson, four brothers, Gont, Corb, Bob and Vic Miller and by one sister, Mary Alice Davis. A MASS of CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:30 AM Saturday, May 21, 2011 at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church with Rev. Philip P. Salmonowicz presiding. VISITATION with the Jackson family will be 6-8 PM Friday, May 20, 2011 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100).
