Floretta Sheridan's Obituary
Floretta Sheridan age 90, of Ravenna died Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids following a brief illness.
Floretta was born on January 6, 1925, to the late Claude Sr. and Gertrude (Groenveld) McNitt. She graduated from Ravenna High School. Floretta married Leon B. Sheridan on April 23, 1943 in Rolla, Missouri. Leon preceded her in death on March 16, 2010. The family would like to thank the staff at Spectrum Health and Spectrum Health Hospice for their care and compassion.
Floretta is survived by sons Leland (Judy) Sheridan of Clio, MI and Terence (Hellen) Sheridan of Providence Forge, VA; daughters Ruth Ann (Bernard) Tobin of New Era; Claudia (Glenn) Place of Sparta; Colleen Moyer of Ravenna; Eva Kalafer of Frankfurt, Germany and Keiko (Rick) Manning of Kentwood, MI; 19 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and 3 great- great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Eveleen McNitt of Conklin and Ruth Moe-McNitt of Ravenna; Alta Tindle of Sparta and brother-in-law Harleigh “Ted†(Dorothy) Sheridan of Conklin.
In addition to her parents and her husband Leon, she was preceded in death by brothers Lyle, Merlin, Richard and Claude McNitt Jr; sister Olive Flynn; brothers-in-law Leslie and Marlin Sheridan; sisters-in-law Norma Doane, Florence Krey, Mary Thomas, Rosemary Smith and Cecile Powell; and grandson Ben Place.
A Memorial Service for Floretta Sheridan will be conducted on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna with Pastor Carl Black officiating.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the memorial service. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be at McNitt Cemetery.
