Flossie M. Carroll's Obituary
Flossie M. Carroll, age 83, passed away Thursday morning following a brief illness. She was born in Pikeville, KY on November 7, 1927 to Frank and Sarah (Harris) Pruitt and moved to Muskegon in 1950. Until her retirement, Flossie was employed at Muskegon Piston Ring for 35 years. She was an active member of the Muskegon Church of Christ where she enjoyed taking part in their women’s bible study group. Flossie enjoyed gardening, traveling and cooking “she made the best peanut butter fudge”. Flossie is survived by: daughter, Patty (Brian) Dodge of Nunica; two sons, Earl (Laura) Carroll, Jr. of Ravenna and Fred Carroll of Nunica; four sisters, Dorothy (Gerald) Singleton of Muskegon, Oakley (Frank) Giddings of Muskegon, Kathryn (Ottis) Compton of Columbus, OH and Linda (Richard) Casebolt of Montague; dear friends: Suann Morey, Susan Taylor and Audrey Cook; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: a son, Larry in 1991; grandson, Robert Dodge in 2008; seven brothers; and a sister. The funeral service will be held at: The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 1st. Interment: Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Visitation: Sunday, 2-4 P.M. and Monday, 6-8 P.M. Memorial contributions: the Robert Dodge Fund thru the Community Foundation of Muskegon or the Muskegon Church of Christ.
