Floyd "Ted" Bevins' Obituary
Floyd Theodore “Ted” Bevins, age 81, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023. He was born September 9, 1942 in Muskegon to Vern and Elizabeth “Betty” (Young) Bevins. Ted was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a member of the American Legion in Cloverdale, IN. He worked for Duke Energy in Indiana as a field supervisor for 19 years. He was fortunate enough that his job took him around the world twice before retiring in 2008. On December 31, 1967, he married the love of his life, the former Charlotte June VanHassel in Muskegon and together celebrated over 55 years of wonderful marriage. Ted was an avid sportsman, loved the outdoors and woodworking, and was very mechanical. He also loved motorcycles and has ridden across the country. SURVIVORS include his loving wife, Charlotte of Hesperia; daughter, Tracy (Steve) Payne of Hesperia; four grandchildren: Charlie (Jake) Hickey, Randi Bevins, Kevin Payne, and Bryan Payne; ten great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy (Alfred) Hodge of Florida; and his adopted family: Shannon Ramsey, Teryan and Darchan Dutcher. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Teddy Ranae Bevins; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Ilah VanHassel; brother, Tom Bevins; and a sister, Ruth Klunder.
