My heartfelt condolences to Mr. Fleetham's family. I had him for Government and World History at Grant High School and graduated in 1971. He was my favorite teacher and I had a lot of respect for him. What I remember him for is in the upper right-hand corner of the chalk board in Government class he would write a daily comment. The one that stands out for me is "Contrary to public opinion, God's last name is not damn." That has stuck with me for the past 50+ years. May he rest in peace!
Mr. Fleetham was a true gift to Clare and his students. He may have been the Government teacher by title but was a teacher to us kids like Jesus was to the world. What he taught me was how to be the best person that I could be. That bad things can have great results and that if I make all decisions based on thoughtfulness to others, that it will always be the right decision. He tied up life's tools and handed them to everyone that would take them. To take a bunch of high school boys and make them think about each other as valuable to the world, finding strengths and to write it out in a warm fuzzy then hand it to them! That is a miracle! I still have every one that was given to me in FCA.
He had a genuine care for everyone and not only taught but lived what he taught and showed us how we could incorporate God into our daily lives in the little things we chose to do. He made high school a great time for us.
Mr. Fleetham spent his entire life helping people to get closer to God and for sure was a first-string player on God's team. And as a great player perfects his skills, they eventually move on to be a great coach. Now he can coach God's team! Once again making our lives have a bright future.
I will be praying for all of you, but as I was taught all bad things can have great results. God now has one of the greatest.
Mr. Fleetham, thanks for your caring, teaching, time and most of all thanks for sharing your gifts of being you with the students in Clare. I will do my best to grow and pass on that gift.
I hope he knew what a difference he made in the lives of so many young men and women. On my dresser sits a warm fuzzy he gave me 41 years ago. I still look at it occasionally to remember a nice comment can make someone's day.
Mr. Fleetham was an amazing teacher. I was a TA for him my junior year, he always had a smile and kind words! Prayers to you all, he definitely made a lasting impression on so many of us.

When I attended Clare High School as a freshman, I had the honor of going on a Band trip to our Nation's Capital and Mr Fleetham joined us. He was one of the greatest teachers. Always had a smile ready for you when you entered class. Warm fuzzies were a highlight from my High School years!
Mr. Fleetham was always so kind to me and made my time at Clare High School easier. I am praying for the family.
