Floyd E. DeForest's Obituary
Mr. Floyd E. DeForest, age 79, passed away Tuesday morning, November 18, 2008. He was born April 2, 1929 in Muskegon to Linford and Maude (Johnson) DeForest and had been a life resident of the area. Mr. DeForest was a 1947 graduate of Muskegon High School. He was employed by Meijer Inc. for 30 years prior to his retirement, and had been the former owner of the Red Diamond Grocery Store. He was a member of the Mona Lake Boat Club, Vikings Linne’ Lodge 57, and the Muskegon Portside A’s. On August 28, 1948 he married the former Betty J. Tyler in Muskegon and she survives him along with 2 sons, David (Mary) DeForest of Cadillac, Kevin (Debra) DeForest of Fruitport; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Keith (MaryAnn) DeForest of Fairfield Glade, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
