Mr. Forrest "Butch" L. Stoevsand's Obituary
Forrest “Butch” L. Stoevsand, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. He was born on July 13, 1949 to Walter and Viola (Wheeler) Stoevsand in Grand Haven. Butch was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was an all-around nice guy and his family came first, bringing his wife, Patti, home flowers and gifts for every occasion. Butch was very active with his children’s sports like hockey and softball. He was an avid Lions, Red Wings and Tigers fan. Butch had a great sense of humor and was an excellent cook – referred to as the “Soup Nazi.” Butch retired from Consumers Energy as a Machinist in July of 2014. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Kyle, Scott; daughter, Brandi; sister, Diane (Denny) Kendall; in-laws, Cheryl Gaudette, Tom Wiersma, Joy Wiersma, Jerry Wiersma Jr.; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful companions, Cheli and Ozzy. Special thanks to friend, Steve “Timmy” Walker, for all his trips with Butch to U of M and helping out where needed. Butch will be sadly missed by all. A memorial service for Butch will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Stoevsand’s residence (293 Randall Rd.). Memorial Contributions in Butch’s name can be made to Pound Buddies of Muskegon. Arrangements entrusted to The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231-798-1100).
