Frances H. Bjornstrom's Obituary
Frances H. Bjornstrom, age 97, passed away on March 7, 2018. She was born on September 2, 1920 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to John and Esther (Leonhardi) Garber. She moved to the Muskegon area in 1924 where she graduated from Muskegon Heights High School. Fran married Peter A. Peterson in 1948 and he preceded her in death December 19, 1967. She then married Arnold M. Bjornstrom on October 26, 1973 and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2001. Fran was a member of Temple United Methodist Church where she held many offices. She had a passion for the ministries and a love for the members of the church. She was the past president of the Wm J. Beal VFW Post 446 Auxiliary. She retired from Teledyne in 1976 after 30 years. Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia and John Garber and lifetime friend, Rayora Bjornstrom. She is survived by her brother, Harold (Jan) Garber of Arizona; nieces, Carla Garber and Susan Alverez; nephew, Thomas Garber; sister-in-law, Betty Bjornstrom; and the Bjornstrom and Utzinger nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the special caregivers of Lake Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Services for Fran have taken place. For a more lasting memory, donations in Fran’s name can be made to Temple United Methodist Church or Hospice of Michigan. Arrangements entrusted to The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231-798-1100).
