Mrs. Frances A. "Micki" Davey's Obituary
Mrs. Frances A. “Micki” Davey, age 90, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at Hospice House of Holland. She was born in Muskegon on August 17, 1922 to Charles and Della (Rozema) Oostmeyer and was a lifelong resident of the area. Micki graduated from Muskegon High School in 1940. She was a member of Fellowship Reformed Church, a former member of Unity Reformed Church, and had attended women’s fellowship at Eastwood Church of the Nazarene. Micki had been bedridden since 2010, and was lovingly cared for in her home by caregivers Barb Wilbur, Lauren Leatherman, and Samantha Gremill. She enjoyed reading, sewing, walking and bicycling with her dogs, camping, and collecting baby dolls. On September 8, 1950, Micki married Martin G. Davey in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on July 27, 2009. She is survived by three children, Paul Davey of Pontiac, MI, Sally (Douglas) Root of Holland, MI, and Barbara (Tim) Weissling of Aurora, CO; one son-in-law, Chuck Trute; 15 grandchildren, Ben Trute, Heather Trute Patulski, Nathan Trute, Sarah Trute Patulski, Aaron Trute, Michael Trute, Esther Trute, Matthew Trute, Hannah Trute, Alison Root, Josiah Weissling, Jonathan Weissling, Jordan Weissling, Shiloh Weissling, and Samuel Weissling; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Micki was preceded in death by one daughter, Jackie Trute; her parents; 5 brothers, Ben, John, Bob, Harvey, and Clarence Oostmeyer; and 2 sisters, Angie Reed and Jeanette Poppe. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Fort Custer National Cemetery (15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI 49012). VISITATION will be from 4-7 PM Monday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. MEMORIALS to Muskegon Rescue Mission, Forgotten Man Ministries, Love, INC, or West Michigan YFC would be appreciated.
