Frances Maxine Irwin's Obituary
Mrs. Frances Maxine Irwin, age 83, of Fruitport, MI passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, July 8, 2023. She was born on February 22, 1940 to Max and Helen (Dykema) Rogalla in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, Frances married Charles West Irwin on August 30, 1958. Together they raised their two children, Joseph (Valerie) Irwin and Paula (John) Rogers. Frances was an active member of First Congregational Church of Fruitport where she served as a deacon, former treasurer, and a part of the Women’s Fellowship. She enjoyed spending her time fishing, bird watching, crafting and camping and was a member of the Happy Wanderer Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Rogalla; and sister, Margaret (Jerry) DeWitt. Frances leaves behind her husband, Chuck Irwin; children, Joseph (Valerie) Irwin and Paula (John) Rogers; grandchildren, Terri Irwin, Tammy (Tim) Dunn, Trisha (Chad) Cantrall, David Rogers, Kristin (Josh) Wessel, and Kara Rogers (Christina Lang); nine great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; brother, Joseph (Rosemary) Rogalla; sister-in-law, Sharon Rogalla; and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held 12:00PM, Monday, July 17 at First Congregational Church, 3212 E. Pontaluna Rd., Fruitport, MI 49415 with Pastor Michael Scott officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 11:00AM – 12:00PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Frances’ memory may be directed to Harbor Hospice Foundation or First Congregational Church.
