Mrs. Frances Ann Markgraf's Obituary
Mrs. Frances Ann Markgraf, age 82, passed away Tuesday evening, March 20, 2018, surrounded by her family. Ann was born October 29, 1935 in Muskegon to Richard and Mildred (Stewart) Thomas. Ann married Robert LeRoy “Bobby“ Latsch and he preceded her in death on October 28, 1983, after 30 years of marriage. In October of 1997 she married Richard Dale Markgraf and he survives her. Ann worked at Howmet for 19 years, and during that time, she also earned an associate’s degree. Ann then became a Supervisor with Child & Family Services where she spent 20 years prior to her retirement in 2000. Ann loved sports, especially baseball, and she was a great softball player and coach. Ann also loved spending time outdoors and in her garden. She was fun, she was kind and had a great smile. Ann was a wonderful mother, grandmother; and a great provider. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends. In addition to her husband, Richard; Ann is survived by her children, James Robert Latsch, Nancy Ann Rizzo, David Mark Latsch, and David Markgraf; grandchildren, Christopher (Mimi) Latsch, Lana (Jesse) Twining, Vincent Rizzo, Andrew Rizzo, Dominick Rizzo, Mathew Latsch, and Cathleen Kaufman; 5 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Barb Randall, Judy (Dan) Riley, and Cathy French; 2 brothers, Norman Thomas and Tim (Linda) Thomas; 3 sisters-in-law, Shirley Thomas, Harriet Thomas, and Cynthia; many nieces and nephews; and Mattie, her faithful German Shepherd. Ann was also preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Tim Becklin; her sister, Patricia Thomas; and 4 brothers, Link, Tom, Marvin, and Mike Thomas. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 26, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St.231-798-1100, with Rev John H. Brown officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM). Interment will be in Fruitport Cemetery.
