Frances Mary Kolenic's Obituary
Mrs. Frances Mary Kolenic, age 89, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014 in Muskegon. She was born on March 9, 1925 in Grand Rapids to Anthony and Martha (Narloch) Kulesza, and resided in Muskegon her entire life. She worked in the office at Norge prior to working at Cherokee Restaurant for many years. Fran enjoyed reading, scary movies, and long summer afternoons sitting on the deck with her grand-dog, Dixie. She loved a good meal, especially her favorite: a very rare steak and a White Russian (“a little less white and a little more Russian”). Fran will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor, big heart for animals and great love for her family. On October 7, 1950, she married Anthony Kolenic and he preceded her in death in 1971. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Tony (Maggie) Kolenic of Norton Shores and Ann Marie (Brian) Carter of Muskegon; 2 grandchildren, Bethany (Erin) Clark and Tony (Giselle) Kolenic; great grandson, Simon; and brother, Hank (Gwen) Kulesa of Kalamazoo. Fran was also preceded in death by her sister, Maxine Dumas. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11 AM Thursday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake (406 E. Savidge St. Spring Lake, MI) with Rev. Fr. Dan DePew presiding. VISITATION with the family will be 5-8 PM Wednesday at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 where the Rosary will be prayed at 7PM. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to NOAH’s Project or Pound Buddies will be appreciated.
