Frances Arlene Sabo's Obituary
Frances Arlene Sabo, age 89, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Trinity Health Muskegon Hospital. She was born September 23, 1934, in Grand Haven, MI, to John and Cora (Diephouse) Berryman. She graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1952 and went on to obtain her Licensed Practical Nursing certification. On May 14, 1960, she married Rudolph “Rudy” Sabo and he preceded her in death on February 8, 2018. Frances worked as an LPN at North Ottawa Community Hospital for 44 years, retiring in 1995.
Frances enjoyed volunteering at International Aid and at the hospital. She liked to go camping, snowmobiling, and boating and she used her creative talents by doing crafts, needlepoint and sewing. Some of her happiest times came from spending time up north.
Frances will be dearly missed by her children, Tim (Joy) Sabo and Dian (Scott) VandeWeg; grandchildren, Michelle (Richard) Clark and Nicholas VandeWeg; and great grandchild, Emmalyn Clark. Along with her husband, Rudy, Frances was preceded in death by her parents; and sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Maynard VanDyk.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11 AM on Monday, January 8, 2024, at The VanZantwick Chapel (620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417) with Pastor Doug Bytwerk officiating and VISITATION 1 hour prior to the service.
