Frances Marie Sheffield's Obituary
Frances Marie Sheffield, age 92, of Spring Lake passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018, at American House Assisted Living in Spring Lake. She was born June 10, 1925, in Grand Haven to Charles Edward and Vernie Mae (Porter) Shears, and in 1947 she married Clarence Sheffield in Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1993.
Frances was a lifelong resident of the area, and worked at Burnside Manufacturing. Her other interests were quilting, and she was very proud of her Grand Haven area paper route she had for eleven years.
She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Ruth (David) Nelson of Nunica, and Sally Ingersoll of Fruitport; her son, Bob Sheffield of Grand Haven; 8 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes (Jessie “J.H”) Metzger of Battle Creek, and Mildred Thompson of Alabama; sister-in-law, Pauline Shears of Grand Haven; three brothers: Charles Shears of Nunica, Howard (Evelyn) Shears of Nunica, and Don (Glo) Shears of Grand Haven, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Harriet Hamblin, and her brother, Jack Shears.
A funeral service for Frances will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services – The VanZantwick Chapel with Chaplain Dennis Perkins officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Senior Resources Muskegon are appreciated.
