Francine E. Andersen Barnick's Obituary
Mrs. Francine E. Andersen-Barnick, age 82, died Sunday afternoon, July 20, 2014 at her home. Francine was a life resident of Muskegon, born March 24, 1932 to Joseph and Emma (Keur) Voogd. She was married to Paul H. Andersen, who preceded her in death. Francine was a social worker for DHS prior to her retirement; and was a member of Unity Reformed Church and of Mt Olivet Lutheran Church of Grand Rapids. Music played an important role in Francine’s life. She sang in several church choirs over the years and was a self-taught pianist being able to play both written music and by ear. Francine also loved to travel and did it as often as she could. SURVIVORS include her husband, William Barnick; 2 children, Paula Andersen and Wayne Andersen, both of Norton Shores; 1 step-son, Scott Barnick of Grand Rapids; and by several nieces and nephews who affectionately called her “Aunt ChiChi.” She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Cornelius and Edward and 2 sisters, Connie and Annie. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, July 24, 2014 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeal Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100) with the Rev. Robert Weidmayer officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Fran's family will be 6-8:00 PM Wednesday.
