Francis L. "Pete" Hosko's Obituary
Mr. Francis L. ‘Pete’ Hosko, age 68, passed away Friday, February 3, 2012, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Pete was born January 20, 1944 to Francis L. and Viola (Westerhof) Hosko in Muskegon. On April 5, 1968 he married Marilyn Strandberg at Calvary Baptist Church where they became life-long members and where Pete served as Deacon, Youth Group leader, Sunday School teacher and in AWANA. He was also one of the owners and operators of the Airport Antique Mall. He enjoyed doing things as a family, including camping, watching the Lions and deer hunting with the boys. Along with Marilyn, his wife of 43 years, Pete is SURVIVED by his children, David (Mandy) Hosko, of Coopersville, Stephanie (Scott) Lubbers, Shelly (Rich) Przybylek and Bill Hosko, all of Fruitport; 4 adopted children, Tyler, Chris, Tiara and Dakota Hosko; 32 foster children; 11 grandchildren, Tiphanie, Joshua, Brittney, Kaleb, Breanna, Rylee, Lauren, Alex, Caleb, Gabriella and Landon; 1 great-grandson, Masyn; his brothers, Jack (Cheryl) Hosko, John (Jan) Hosko and Bob (Carol) Loomis; sisters, Sandy (Jack) Sischo and June (Mike) Hoppe; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike (Deb) Strandberg, Herb (Diane) Strandberg and Mark (Sandra) Strandberg; and many nieces and nephews. Pete was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sharon; and infant siblings, David James and Melanie. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Monday, February 6, 2012 at Calvary Church (5873 Kendra). VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 Burial will be in Fruitport Cemetery. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
