Francis A. "Frank" LaPres Jr.'s Obituary
Francis A. “Frank” LaPres, Jr., age 88, passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Mercy Hospital. He was born August 25, 1929 in Muskegon to Francis A. and Helen V. (Buckley) LaPres, Sr., and lived his entire life in the area. He married the former Patricia M. Quirk on October 17, 1953 in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on December 30, 1986. Frank worked 38 years as a bookkeeper for Muskegon Construction Company and retired in 1988. He was a lifetime member of St. Jean de Baptiste Catholic Church until its closing when he transferred to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Frank was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council 706 where he was on the bowling league for many years. SURVIVORS include 3 daughters, Mary Beth Nowak, Joanie (Ray) Langlois, Barb (Bruce) Hall; 10 grandchildren, Jodi (Joe) Marsh, Eric (Ashley) LaPres, Jennifer (Scott) Waldo, Mark (Jennie) Nowak, Aimee Langlois, Ray Langlois, Heidi (Jeff) Rigby, Becky (Rick) Sykes, Scott (Kristen) Hall, Todd Hall; 22 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Tom (Dena) LaPres; 1 sister, Peg McCabe; 2 sisters-in-law, Carol LaPres-Beyer, Sharon (Kimm) Miller; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his wife, Pat LaPres, he was preceded in death by his son, Bill LaPres, son-in-law, Joe Nowak, his parents, and 2 brothers, Joe (Mary) LaPres, Bob LaPres, brother-in-law, Deacon Bill McCabe, and sister-in-law, Bea LaPres. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (2929 McCracken St.) with Rev. Fr. Charles D. Hall presiding. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION will be held 5-8 PM Monday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565 where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:15 PM Monday.
