I’m sorry I didn’t get to know your dad. I’m from Northern Wisconsin, identify as Yooper! I’ve spent a lot of time in Houghton. I’m sure I would have enjoyed knowing your dad! I hope to get to know his family on LSL! You are all in my thoughts and prayers!
Thoughts & prayers are with the entire Brechting family as you mourn the loss of your wonderful father. He always had a smile for us when we met at church. He surely was an exceptional man! Remembering him from the old neighborhood. We lived on Ranch Lane, & saw him often.
Appreciated the business opportunities Bud provided to me throughout the years. He was a vital cog in my early days, providing a firm, and at the same time, comfortable professional atmosphere to my career. I gained confidence through him being one of my first repeat clients. Every conversation with Bud included laughter...RIP.
I became friends with Mary and Frank through band at SL and loved being in their home so full of music, laughter and fun. Bud was always welcoming and such a steadfast constant. I left the area many years ago but always made it back to the Brechting home whenever I came back to visit. My Mom wouldn’t let anyone call me Jenny, my name is Jennifer, but Bud always called me Jenny and it just felt right when he did. Say hi to my Pops for me!
My memories of Bud and Nan are many. Beautiful family we watched grow. Bud was always kind and full of fun. watching Bud care for Nancy told all that he didn’t mind all the Alzheimer’s. Nan was his love no matter her condition. I am sure that Bud is seeing all those he loved at the gates oh Heaven. our love to all the Brechting family. God bless you at this difficult time

To my dearest Brechting cousins – Lisa, Susie, Alice, Mary & Frank – and your families,
You have my sincerest condolences and sympathies as you mourn your Dad’s passing. He was a solid anchor for your family and will be very much missed. I remember all the fun we had together as kids with family visits and the red-hot team your Mom and Dad always made playing tennis, badminton, croquet or card games. Over the years, your Dad was always there for your family as a steady constant through so many challenges. Know that his influence, guidance and love will be forever found in your heart and memories. Wishing you peace and comfort in the love and many happy memories you shared. With love, Pam & Buckshot Harju
