Frank Elmer Brown's Obituary
Frank Brown, age 87, of Grand Haven went to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 28, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Frank was born December 7, 1926 in Grand Haven to Elwyn and Alma (Coomer) Brown. Frank was the fifth of six children. He married Harriet Teunis on September 26, 1947 in Grand Haven and she preceded him in death on November 26, 2013.
Frank was a hunter, avid fisherman, and loved the Detroit Tigers. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Frank was a veteran of the Navy, having served in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a member of the VFW Sgt. Alvin Jonker Post #2326 and the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28, both in Grand Haven.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Rod (Rose) Brown of Grand Haven; daughters, Linda (Bob) Westhoff of Grand Haven, and Nancy (Eric) Cheadle of Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Dykstra of Florida; brother-in-law, Don (Joyce) Teunis of Grand Haven; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be held from 10 AM – 12 PM Thursday, July 3, 2014 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Memorial Contributions in memory of Frank may be given to Hospice of North Ottawa Community or the VFW Sgt. Alvin Jonker Post # 2326.
