Frank A. Burgess' Obituary
Frank Adam Burgess, age 49, passed away in his sleep peacefully and unexpectedly in Muskegon, MI, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
He was born in Muskegon on November 20, 1976, and called it home for his entire life. He was raised by a loving devoted mother who was the center of his world and his light in any darkness he faced.
He worked a variety of jobs over his lifetime. Most recently Frank was promoted to Facilitator at MillerKnoll in Spring Lake and was proudly taking leadership classes to continue his advancement. His personality and work ethic reflected his character that was recognized throughout his career.
Frank played on various softball leagues throughout his life and loved staying physically active. However, he could relax just as hard as he played when he had the opportunity.
Frank loved to watch movies and most recently would binge anything Anime in nature. He was involved in a Shakespeare troupe in one part of his past, and he found great joy in randomly quoting Shakespeare to watch the reactions on faces of those around him. These are just some reflections of his young at heart soulfulness that was always and forever present.
His smile brought joy to any and all situations. His humor made hard things easier and tears turn into smiles. He learned to carry that in his heart from Linda, his mother, his North Star on who he wanted to be. From her he learned rebelliousness, mischievousness, loyalty, laughter, and most of all the unconditional love she gave him for her entire life. His stepfather, John continued to show Frank that unconditional love and loyalty even after Linda passed to ensure he never felt alone.
Because he was Linda’s son, he was kind to everyone, and to be loved by him was to be loved unconditionally. He would show up for his people, and his people knew that without having any doubt in their hearts.
Frank was, is and always will be proof that the comeback is always greater than the setback. He rose from the ashes of his youth like a Phoenix.
Frank will be lovingly remembered and missed by his daughter, Cheyenne (James) Jager; granddaughter, Waseya Marshall; brother, Michael Burgess Jr; life partner, Joanna Wyszkowska; God Sisters Donna and Amy Judd; and various aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended relatives. He has been reunited in loving peace with his mother and stepfather, Linda and John Mahoney.
A Memorial Service will be held for Frank at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 12th, 2026, at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W Sherman Blvd, Muskegon, MI, 49441, with Visitation taking place an hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cheyenne Jager to go into an account for his granddaughter Waseya’s future. Contributions may be sent to Cheyenne at 46570 Willis Road Lot 40, Belleville, MI, 48111, or made to her CashApp: $cheyjag3r
