Frank "Ken" Mackenzie's Obituary
Mr. Franklyn “Kenneth” Mackenzie, age 93, died Thursday morning, November 19, 2015, at Hackley Hospital. He was born October 11, 1922 in Muskegon to Samuel and Delores (Hoyt) Mackenzie; and had been a life resident of the area. Mr. Mackenzie was a WW II veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the European Theatre under General Patton. Following his military duty he became a set-up man at Muskegon Screw Works, retiring in 1978. Kenneth was a member of Family Bible Church and enjoyed playing golf and being on his computer prior to losing his vision. On January 10, 1942 he married the former Margaret E. Parnell; and she preceded him in death on August 3, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his son, John; grandson, Eric; brother, Herbert; and sisters, Norma DeCoster and Gwen Ward. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Lynda White of Indianapolis, IN and Delores Kecskes of Muskegon; 4 grandchildren, Evelyn (Jon) Jacobs, Patricia (Frank) White, Deborah Kecskes & William Kecskes; 5 great-grandchildren, Thomas (Christine) White, Stephen Jacobs, Mary Jacobs, Skyler Winslow and Shelby Winslow; and 1 great-great-grandson, William Patrick “Liam” White. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Monday, November 23, 2015 at Family Bible Church, 1256 W. Broadway, Muskegon, MI 49441 with Pastor Jerry DePoy officiating. VISITATION with Kenneth’s family will be 5:00-7:00PM Sunday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442, 231-726-5210. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
