I first met Frank when he was president at Muskegon Community College, probably more than twenty years ago. And then would run into him somewhat frequently after that, less frequently later. Frank always remembered me and had a smile on his face as he recounted the times before. Frank was always upbeat, very 'professional', yet, more 'down to earth' than his background, education and position might otherwise suggest. Frank was a thinker and a doer, an intellect and an achiever. I valued his friendship and know he was a great asset to this community. He will no doubt be missed by many. The UP's loss was our gain. Condolences to the family!

Frank was like another grandfather to me. I will always remember talking to him during michigan football games. Both of us hyping each other up. I will cherish my many UofM gifts even more now. We will think of you every time we go to G&L. Frank touched so many lives. He became a part of our family. Till we meet again.

One of my favorite people in the whole world is gone. My deepest sympathies to Marlene and family. You all know what a gem of a guy Frank was, and I pray that his memories bring you peace and comfort. From the day I was hired in 1979 until my Faculty award in 2022, he was there for me.

As I read these sentiments on the Tribute Wall, it is evident how many lives he touched. Be proud. God Bless you.

Dr. Frank Marczak, one of the kindest persons that I've ever met. Truly a scholar and a professional. I greatly appreciate him taking time to coach and help me as a first-year President of Muskegon Community College, understand my new role and responsibilities in July 2022. May he rest in peace. Frank was the president of MCC when I was hired as a counselor many years ago. One of the Frank legends was that we never had snow days because Frank was from the UP. We probably did but not many.
Franks was always supportive, humble, gave credit for successes, and took responsibility when things, like enrollment, weren’t going well. He was a great model of leadership for me.
On a personal level, he always asked about my family, especially my son who used to hide under the large pine tree in Frank and Marlene’s yard.
Sympathy to the Marczak family and thank you for sharing Frank with the community for many years.

When I first started teaching at MCC there were many times I felt overwhelmed. Frank’s kindness and guidance made all the difference in my early career. A great leader. He will be missed.
