Frank E. Wainwright's Obituary
Frank E. Wainwright, 89, passed away quietly on Saturday, April 28, 2007. He was born on March 26, 1918 in Terre Haute, IN, one of 12 children and 3 step-children from parents William and Julia Wainwright (Albert). The family moved to Muskegon when Frank was 6 weeks old, where he remained. Frank attended Muskegon High School and played on the 1936 All-State Football Team. He was the oldest member of the Muskegon High School Alumni Leather Helmet Gang to attend their annual fish fry last year. Frank furthered his joy of football as a referee and was honored by the State of Michigan for his 22 years of service. He also served as President of the Muskegon Referee Association. He was one of the founders and president of West Michigan Grinding Association, and has been retired for the past 28 years. On October 18, 1940 Frank married the love of his life, Jeanne Michaelson, and the two of them have spent the past 67 years together, including 30 enjoyable years in Florida. Franks second love was fishing and he enjoyed the comradery of his fishing buddies at the Polish Union. Frank is survived by his wife Jeanne; his daughter, Suzann Stein (Richard) of Traverse City; his two grandchildren, Eric and Heather Wainwright, and their mother Marcia of Muskegon; his sister, Thelma Wood of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews; special niece Joan Bellanger; special nephews, Don Wainwright and Tim Eagan. Frank was preceded in death by his son, Jack Wainwright. SERVICES will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the Forest Park Covenant Church, with Rev. Russell Carlson officiating.
