Frank J. DeBoer's Obituary
Mr. Frank J. DeBoer, age 86, passed away Sunday evening, February 20, 2011 in Muskegon. He was born September 15, 1924 to William and Grace (Kamp) DeBoer in Muskegon, and was a life resident. Frank worked as an accountant for the Muskegon Intermediate School District before retiring, was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and belonged to the American Legion Post #9. He enjoyed making doll houses, ornaments, wood working, gardening, spending time outdoors and on the family property. On March 1, 1947 Frank married Hermie Louise Laumann, and she survives him along with 2 daughters, Sandy (Bryan) Bytwerk of Colorado Springs, CO, Debra VanDyke of Stillman Valley, IL; 12 grandchildren, Bruce Bull, Jamie Bull, Alan Bull, Jessica Bull, Casey Bull, Heidi Bytwerk, Jonathan Bytwerk, Angela (Tom) Dykema, Jennifer (Paul) Elzinga, Holly Cooper, Matthew VanDyke, Nathan VanDyke; 3 great-grandchildren, Isaiah Dykema, Josiah Dykema, Madilyn Elzinga; 1 brother, William (Rachel) DeBoer of Muskegon; 1 sister, Cora Jean (Rolland) Hyma of Zeeland; many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents;2 daughters, Linda Bull and Marcia Cooper; 1 son-in-law, William VanDyke; 2 brothers, Julius and Ralph DeBoer. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 1, at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100 with Rev. Marvin Wassink officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
