To the Russick Family,
We mourn the loss of our good friend Frank. I lived across the street from the family restaurant in San Clemente in the late 1970's. Frank & Rose adopted me as another 'son' and made sure I ate well.
Frank would fry up a plate of his famous potato's every time I walked in. His breakfast menu was wildly popular throughout Southern Orange County.
Frank taught me how to golf. We were on the fairways right at dawn. This would assure we were done in time for Frank and Rose to attend mass which they did every morning.
Every summer, Frank would close down the restaurant and load up the family in his motor home. Frank could cram more stuff in small places than any man alive.
I drive by the old restaurant quite often and think of Frank and Rose (It is now a very popular bicycle shop).
What I remember most about Frank was his very apparent and unending love for Rose and his family, his concern and support for military personnel, and his love of country.
Frank flew an American flag high above his restaurant every day he lived in San Clemente.
Frank & Rose Russick are charter members of the "Greatest Generation."
