Franklin H. "Frank" Rahn's Obituary
Franklin H. “Frank” Rahn, age 85, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020 after courageously fighting cancer since 1978. He was born on July 10, 1935 to Robert and Esther (Yarranton) Rahn in Muskegon, MI and has lived here his whole life. He was a proud veteran, serving his country in the US Navy. Frank worked for Lomac for many years in maintenance, before retiring in 1997. On November 6, 1959 he married the love of his life, the former Jackie Shetterly in Muskegon, MI. Together they cherished 61 years of marriage full of love and laughter. Frank was known to be an outdoors man who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid football fanatic and truly enjoyed cheering on his Wolverines. He was also a member of the Muskegon Ostomy Association, where he would gather once a month. Frank was known to be a man of many talents; he was quite skilled in wood working and enjoyed working on projects with Jackie. He also took pride in keeping his home and yard in pristine condition. Above all things, he truly loved his family. He was a loving husband, doting father, and proud grandfather. He and Jackie never missed one of their grandchildren’s games or sporting event at Muskegon Catholic Central high school, no matter what the weather conditions were. He was also an avid fan of Oakridge high school football. Frank loved being involved in his grandchildren’s lives. He will always be remembered for his positive outlook and strong-willed personality. He is survived by his wife, Jacquelyn Rahn; 2 daughters, Sandra (Gary) Bird and Sherri (Jerry) Campbell; 4 grandchildren, Cody (Felecia) Bird, Nolan Bird, Devon (Laura Russman) Campbell and Zachary (Grace Knoebel) Campbell; great-granddaughter, Sutton Campbell; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 7 siblings, Mary (Sam) Town, Robert (Marian) Rahn, George (Eloise) Rahn, William (Shirley) Rahn, Lillian Janowiak, Donald “Pat” (Beverly) Rahn and Raymond Rahn.
