Fred Dykema's Obituary
Fred Dykema, age 85, died Saturday morning, May 14,, 2016 in Muskegon. He was born June 23, 1930 in Muskegon to Fred and Barbara Zenkert Dykema; and had been a life resident of the area. Fred had been a molder for Westran Corp for 42 years prior to his retirement in 1992. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and formerly of Fruitport Eagles, Aerie 3666. In his earlier years Fred enjoyed fishing and camping with his family. In his later years, he enjoyed NASCAR, gardening and being a winter snowbird in Florida for 19 years. He married the former Shirley Gunia, and she preceded him in death in 1984. Then on June 27, 1986 he married the former Phoebe L. Nowicki Cuddington and she survives him along with 4 sons, Jeff (Debbie) Swihart, Stu (Clara) Swihart, Dan (Judy) Dykema and Doug (Jill) Dykema; 4 daughters, Kim (Bob) Bain, Kerry (Max) Martinez, Karen Cuddington and Kris Cuddington; 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 2 great-grand sons, Keegen and Carter. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 7:00PM Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 E. Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210).
