Fred R. Harjer's Obituary
Fred Rodney Harjer, age 63, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019. He was born April 22, 1956 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to Harold and Doris (Stickney) Harjer. Fred graduated from Orchard View High School in 1974. He worked for Dunkin Donuts for 16 years and then went to work at Cole’s Quality Foods for 28 years prior to his retirement. On June 24, 1988, he married Maria Morse in Muskegon. SURVIVORS include the love of his life and wife of 31 years, Maria; the light of his life, daughter, Nicole Harjer; siblings: Deb (Bill) McGaffin, Carol (Kevin) Riffle, and Tim Harjer; loving nieces and nephews: Joe and Miriam, Autumn and Jeff, Erik and Katie. Fred was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Chad Ryan Harjer. VISITATION with the family will be from 5-7 PM Friday, November 22, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. A Celebration of Fred’s Life will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Lee Chapel. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens at a later date.
