Fred W. McKissack's Obituary
Mr. Fred William McKissack, age 79, passed away on Sunday October 10, 2021 in Grand Rapids. He was born on September 13, 1942 to Madison and Isabelle (Gruette) McKissack in Chicago, IL. Fred proudly served his country while in the United States Navy and was Honorably Discharged in 1963. He was a member of White Lake Eagles #3214 as well as VFW Post 3256. Fred enjoyed spending his time golfing and playing on as many different courses as he could. He was a loving, caring father and always called himself “Mr. Mom.” Fred is survived by his children, Fred (Denise) McKissack, Elaine McKissack Devries, Matthew McKissack, and Andrea McKissack; many grandchildren; companion, Diane Lapinski; and brother, Ted (Kathy). He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sara Brown, and siblings, Charlotte, Terry, and Frank. Per Fred’s wishes, a private family graveside will take place.
